We are Adventure Guides.

 

Adventure Guides are a special breed - capable of walking many miles in all types of weather, comfortable with challenging terrain, prepared to handle excited dogs, not afraid to get dirty, and hungry to challenge themselves and the dogs on a daily basis.

 

We are tasked with providing love, adventure, enrichment, and engagement for every dog we serve. We do not take this assignment lightly.

Adventure Guide / Dog Walker 

Adventure Guide shifts are:

Monday - Friday: 9am - 3pm

Saturday: 11am - 3pm

 

We require a minimum commitment of 2 days each week.

Days must be consistent from week to week.

Responsibilities

  • Take dogs on neighborhood walks, engaging them with enrichment activities

  • Organize and oversee play sessions in a secure, fenced-in yard

  • Safely transport dogs to nearby trails for exciting woodland adventures

  • Handle off-leash dogs in the woods

  • Drive dogs to appointments such as the groomer, veterinarian, or daycare, ensuring their well-being and comfort during transit

  • Attend to dogs' basic needs, including feeding, medication administration, and ensuring water bowls are kept full and clean

  • Skillfully manage dog behaviors during solo walks and group hikes, maintaining control and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all dogs under your care

  • Adhere to detailed client instructions and preferences regarding their dogs, providing personalized care and attention to each one

  • Maintain the security and cleanliness of our clients' homes

  • Craft clear and engaging communications to keep clients informed about the fun and adventures their dogs experienced during their visit

Requirements

  • 1 year of pet care experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate who has owned a dog for at least 5 years

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Own a smartphone and be technologically savvy

  • Own your own vehicle with valid insurance and a valid driver's license

  • Make a 6-month commitment to our company

  • Comfortable driving and safely navigating the roads in our area

  • Enjoy being outside in all types of weather (we limit outdoor time in extremes)

  • Be willing to work with all breeds and sizes of dogs

  • Be ready to learn new skills and take the continuing education courses we assign

Pay/Perks

  • Competitive hourly wage

  • 100% of client tips (+$1-2/hr)

  • Paid online training and Pet First Aid/CPR certification

  • Birthday off with pay

  • Bonuses for referring new clients or employees

  • Opportunity to advance to Team Trainer (train new employees), Team Leader and/or an administrative position
