To ensure that your beloved fur-babies receive high-quality, consistent care – no matter which Team Member completes their visit – we have a number of steps in place.
Your pet’s first visit:
Each one of our highly-trained Team Members is introduced to your pet, and learns his/her routine.
Before they are hired, our Team Members complete:
They are:
All of our Team Members are Employees and not independent contractors. This allows us full control over the quality of the care they provide, as well as the training they receive.
Once hired, our Team Members complete our 5-day training program before they are cleared to complete visits on their own.
This training program is facilitated by the Manager and/or Team Trainer. The new Team Member and their Trainer complete a series of assessments at the end of each shift to closely monitor the Trainee’s progress.
They also complete a series of online training during their first 6 weeks on the job, including CPR/First Aid Certification, Pet Care Team Training Certification, and FetchFind courses.
In total, each Team Member receives more than 25 hours of training.
Their online Certifications through FetchFind and Pet Care Team Training include:

“Hi! I’m Christine. I am the Owner and Founder of Nature Calls! I created my company to give dogs the opportunity to get fresh air and exercise while their owners are busy at work or play.”
Christine grew up surrounded by pets of all kinds. Her family loves German Shepherds, and she had a few growing up at home. As a child, she cared for dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, newts, frogs, fish and a duck.
She has been working with animals professionally since 1998. She has 13 years of experience in the veterinary field. Her veterinary career began during high school as a part-time Kennel Technician. She worked her way up to Veterinary Assistant, then Certified Veterinary Technician. Her veterinary experience includes working at an exotics specialty hospital, an orthopedic surgery/emergency hospital, and a 10-doctor specialty hospital practicing state-of-the-art laser surgeries and stem-cell therapy. She has worked in clinics in NJ, Vermont, upstate NY and Manhattan. She has plenty of experience with all breeds of dogs, cats, birds, and exotics and received special training in managing fear and anxiety in cats.
Christine also has experience writing blog posts and sales copy for veterinary clinics, doggie daycares, and pet health supplements.
She began pet sitting “on the side” in 2006 and opened Nature Calls (formerly VetPro Pet Care) in 2014.
She feels blessed to serve her community by helping pet owners with the huge amount of responsibility that comes with owning a dog. She could not imagine doing anything else but caring for pets and their families.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys hiking, biking, singing, dancing, and learning. She has a (slightly unhealthy) obsession with cars, motorcycles and planes. She lives in Somersworth with her cats, Tatsu Warrior and Mack the Ripper.
Fairlee lives in Rochester with her fiancé, Bryan, and her Maine Coon cat, Gulliver. She enjoys arts and crafts, designing, organizing, succulents, animals, watching her stepson play hockey, hanging with her nieces and nephew, food (eating, not cooking), lakes, and antiques.
She does professional organizing in addition to dog walking and pet sitting. She’s always been very design oriented and has a bachelor degree of fine arts and graphic design. Hobby Lobby is her happy place 😊.
Fairlee has been working with Nature Calls since November 2022.
Mikaela lives in Somersworth with her German shepherd, Hotchner, and her cat, Happy. She likes to relax and spend time on the beach. She is a senior in high school and will be graduating at the end of this school year.
Mikaela has been working with Nature Calls since July 2023.
“Hi! I’m Stephanie and I am a lover of all animals, breeds, and varieties! I find that no matter what kind of day I am having they just make my world a better, brighter place. They really are a man’s best friend and I can only hope that I can make their day glitter like they make mine.”
Stephanie lives in Dover with her husband, Adam. She has two teen boys. They are her pride and joy. She also has three cats; Simba, Timone, and Baymaxx as well as an Australian Shepherd named Si. She was raised around a variety of animals; iguanas, birds, ferrets, and rats to name a few. Her best friend growing up was her ball python, Sasha. She took Sasha everywhere with her even to trips to the store.
She has a bachelors in Family and Child Services and an associate’s in Early Childhood Education. She has served the community in a variety of ways such as providing services for the homeless, parental education around child development, advocacy, and child welfare services. Through it all, she found that animals and nature grounded her and was her go-to-form of therapy.
Stephanie considers herself a foodie. She loves trying new flavors and enjoys making new recipes. She also has a garden at home where she grows a variety of vegetables and herbs. She is hoping to someday expand to grow berries and fruit trees. She also loves the arts and enjoys making floral arrangements and fairy gardens.
Stephanie has been working with Nature Calls since September 2023.
“Hello! I’m Aidan and I’m looking forward to helping you and your furry friends out! I’m from South Berwick and have lived in Maine just about all my life. I graduated from UVM with a degree in English, so I’m a big reader and writer. I’ve mostly worked in restaurants but I’m a huge animal lover with lots of pet experience. I’m always ready to hit the road and explore, especially with a furry friend by my side!”
Aidan has been working with Nature Calls since October 2023.
Thank you!
